About Jamie
From competitive figure skater to traveling nomad turned working professional and now a dedicated mom, Jamie has traversed diverse paths, gaining a profound appreciation for the unique challenges and joys that each stage of life presents.
Living in a world where mental health stigma persists, Jamie understands the complexities surrounding seeking help. She vividly remembers her own mix of emotions when she first stepped into a counselor's office to address her mental health concerns.
Jamie recognizes that the journey to counseling isn't always straightforward. Making the decision to seek support can evoke a mix of feelings and uncertainties. Drawing from her own experiences, Jamie empathizes with the courage it takes to embark on this path and is committed to walking alongside you every step of the way.
In addition to her personal journey, Jamie has spent over 20-years assisting individuals navigate unexpected absences from work, developing an appreciation for the impact it can have on mental well-being and the importance of mental health support during difficult times.
She holds a Bachelor degree in Human Kinetics and a Master degree in Counselling Psychology, Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of British Columbia. Jamie is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She is also a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional with TSA designation through the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP); as well as a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA). Jamie holds additional trainings as a Progressive Goal Attainment Program facilitator (PGAP™) and in SPARK Leadership. She is a Certified Practitioner of the Myers-Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI) and is trained in the administration of variety of aptitude, interests and achievement tests.
With Jamie, clients find a safe and nonjudgmental space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and concerns, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and identifying the missing pieces needed for a fulfilling life and/or preparing for return to work/career transitions. She prioritizes building a trusting therapeutic relationship, customizing each session and approach to address the unique needs of every client.

Through self-analysis, exploration, and practical application in a warm and nurturing environment, Jamie guides clients towards personal growth, resilience and prepares them for change.
